Spending so much time at home can create mental, emotional and energetic clutter. Clutter makes us feel stuck and chaotic in our internal and external worlds. Its important to clear that energy in order to manage and deal with the world we live in today effectively and with some degree of peace. Spaces can accumulate negative or heavy energies just like dust on a table. You may not see it, but you can feel it. Smudging with intention clears that energy just like a dust rag clears the dust. There are so many varieties of smudges made from various natural materials to chose from. The key to any smudging is your intention. Intending to create a space of love, prosperity, protection, peace, health - whatever it is, needs to be a part of your clearing ritual. Internal clutter needs to be cleared more frequently because we tend to add to the chaos both consciously and subconsciously on a daily basis with our thoughts, fears, concerns and internal challenges. It's important to have even simple daily ritual to keep our internal world more balanced and clutter free. Some examples of easy ways to incorporate that: When you wake up take your first 5 minutes of the day to focus on your breath. Pick an affirmation for that day like " I allow for this day to unfold with patience and peace". As you breathe, recite your affirmation over and over. Your body will respond by energetically trying to accomodate this as your "go to" response. It's like planting a seed. Another easy thing we can do is to carve out as little as 5 minutes disconnected from people, electronics, social media, tv, or other distracting devices. Unplug. It gives your energy a much needed break to relax and not accumulate more "stuff". Any exercise or body movement creates shifts as well. Stretches, a short walk, crunches on the floor or a full blown workout all have a benefit in moving energy so it doesn't become stagnant.
